So Fall Fashion is in full swing. I capitalize Fall Fashion because Fall Fashion is my absolute favorite fashion season. Boots, scarves, dark lip colors, false eyelashes, dark makeup, blacks, greys, reds, jeans, etc. I live for red, maroon, purple and black lipcolors.... I feel that having been a part of the SLC fashion community, I didn't do myself justice by missing Fashion Night Out. I also feel that missing out on Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC, is a fail due to my constant partying and spending that has been going on for the past 8 years. So I am going to do my part as a fashion lover and idolize fall fashion looks that I die for.
I always say mix classy with trashy but for me this season is all about sophistication. Finding that expensive pair of jeans that you can pair with your slouched boots is a MUST. I'm all about leggings and hosiery, but you NEED to make sure you have plenty of cute must have jeans this season. Pairing them with an oversized shirt, a scarf, boots, big sunglasses and your favorite pair of oversized earrings can create a perfect day time look. If you are fashion forward try a dark maroon lipcolor (Diva From MAC) and some false lashes. Big eyelashes are in, and they add an amazing porcelain doll look to your beautiful face. (I could write a whole post about false eyelashes and how I fell in love with them). This perfect daytime fall look can be paired with a DKNY knitted cable cardigan, and I am a little over Abercrombie and Fitch (since highschool) but I ventured in there the other day, and they have some adorable sweaters and cardigans that you can pair with any look. If you want to go a little more feminine and ditch the jeans, pair with leggings, your favorite pair of tights, or a tan colored fishnet. (DO NOT WEAR WHITE FISHNETS). Those are completely trashy. A tan or brown fishnet, however, can be the icing on the cake if you know how to pair it well. I'm really in to cable tights because they don't run easily and they are warmer than a regular pair of black pantyhose. (Perfect for drinks or dinner).
Last but not least always make sure you buy your classics for Fall. If you have your bases covered, you can accessorize with scarves, jewelry, heels, boots, etc. to dress up a look. (And you're not looking the same every time you run in to that one person you NEVER run in to except when you are in the EXACT same outfit, when you saw them last). Pair with a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks and a cute vintage clutch or hobo bag and you are good to go.
There. Now I did my part and I don't feel guilty about completely disregarding my roots. Stay tuned for a class on false lashes.
